I’m sure by now you’ve probably heard the news that 1shop (the autoresponder provider), has raised their rates a little for the autoresponder subscription. At first glance, it might seem like quite a hike but let’s break it down a bit.
- The last time 1Shop raised their rates on the autoresponder package was 2003. Let’s face it, thanks to inflation (thanks to the central banks), the costs of running a business goes up. In fact, for the price of something not to go up in 8 years is quite remarkable.
- They have also changed the structure of how the client limits works which can benefit a lot of us. You’ll see in the chart below, that if you have under 2,500 contacts in your system, you can save a bunch of money, especially if you pay annually. But even if you choose to pay monthly, they still have plans as low as $34.00 which is only $5 more per month than the current $29 price.
- There have been many upgrades made recently including new contact search, newly added custom fields, automatic link tracking for broadcasts, plus many others.
- You can add time onto your current subscription at the current prices. That is what most people plan on doing to save the most money. Then you don’t have to renew at the new higher price for however long you extend your subscription at the current price. December 14th is the deadline to extend at the current lower packages.
- This DOES NOT AFFECT any shopping cart packages. If you have a package with a shopping cart/secure order system, the price IS NOT changing for your subscription.

What you should do is first find out how many people are in your database. If you’re just getting started, you probably don’t have that many so you’d be fine with the minimum package.
You can view how many contacts you have by simply logging in to 1shop. Your contact count is on the main home page.
So [wlm_firstname], if you plan on renewing early to take advantage of the savings, here’s something to know. If you’re currently on monthly and would like to switch to yearly… OR… if you’re currently on yearly and would like to change to monthly, you MUST call 1Shop billing at 1-888-792-1961 option #2. This type of change must be made over the phone during their business hours.
If you’re staying with your current recurring payment structure, then you can simply add additional time from within your account. There is no limit to how much time you can add at current prices so feel free to add multiple years and it will be a charge you won’t see for quite some time!
